esteemed pleasure to be tasked as Squad Instructor for these 13 men and women who over the last 5
months have been pushed mentally and physically and challenged to the brink of their limits and beyond.
I applaud each of them for their courage and outstanding performance while going through the most
rigorous, intense and final process of becoming Police Officers. I encourage them to demonstrate fairness
in the execution of their duties and by doing so through professionalism, work towards building safer
communities in the Turks and Caicos Islands.’
Mr. Trevor Botting, The Commissioner of Police said ‘It was a privilege to attend the Graduation of
thirteen Police Officers who have undergone five months of very challenging training in all aspects of
policing, physical fitness, drill and deportment. The training regime included a 4:30am start, every day,
to undertake physical exercise before a full day of academic and practical studies. I was very proud to see
the development of this group of very capable, smart and committed officers who gave a terrific account
of themselves during the graduation event but also performed consistently to a high standard during the
training. The new officers were accompanied by Sergeant Kevin Clarke who has done a great job
supporting our new officers, delivering training and himself achieving academic success as a trainer. Sgt.
Clarke deserves great credit for the job he has played in the support and development of our new
officers. I look forward to welcoming back our officers to the Turks and Caicos Islands as they start their
careers in service to our communities. I hope the community joins me in congratulating the new officers
on their success and wishing them well in their policing careers.’
