Officers of the Grand Turk Criminal Investigations Department are actively investigating the  reported abduction of a minor. 

Head of Crime, Safeguarding, Public Protection and Intelligence Superintendent Dean Holden  said, “The RTCIPF can confirm that at around 9:23 a.m. yesterday (May 05th), a female  accompanied her 12-year-old male relative to the Grand Turk Police Station and lodged a report.  

“It is alleged that the minor was snatched by a male hiding in bushes. The minor was walking  along an area known as The Quarry on May 04th. Based on the report given, he was forced into a  vehicle, bound and taken to the Middle Street area. Luckily, the victim freed himself and went  home. Following the report, the victim was taken for medical attention. 

“The circumstances outlined are concerning and traumatic. The RTCIPF is asking for assistance  from the public for any CCTV footage that might be available in the Quarry and Middle Street  areas. Any information or footage could be crucial in helping to identify the suspect and bring  him to justice. If you have seen anything suspicious or have any relevant footage, please share it  with us. Your help could be instrumental in solving this case and ensuring the safety of our  communities”. 

The Serious Crime Unit will continue offering support to the victim. 

The RTCIPF asks the public to notify the closest police station, contact 911, the Serious Crime  Unit at 231-1842, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477, and anonymously give any information on this  incident or any illegal activity.
