On Saturday, April 27th, 2024, at approximately 4:30 PM, the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands  Police Force (RTCIPF) received a report of a bomb threat at the JAGS McCartney International  Airport in Grand Turk. A similar threat was also received on Friday, April 26th at 4:48 PM. 

The Force conducted a proportionate search to ensure everyone’s safety; no devices were found.  We are treating both incidents as a bomb hoax. 

These threats, received via email, were met with an immediate and decisive response from the  RTCIPF, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to your safety.  

We are liaising with the relevant counterparts to track the culprits as part of our investigations. 

The RTCIPF is committed to ensuring the safety of the residents and visitors of these islands. We prioritize the security and well-being of our citizens and visitors and will continue to work towards maintaining the Turks and Caicos Islands as a safe and welcoming destination. 

The RTCIPF asks the public to notify the closest police station, contact 911, the Serious Crime  Unit at 231-1842, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477, and anonymously give any information on these threats. 

Additionally, persons are encouraged to download the CrimeStoppers P3 app and share information.
