The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF) is warning members of the public about an ongoing scam in which individuals are receiving calls and messages from persons purporting to be from religious institutions.
During these calls, victims are asked to provide a six-digit code or click on Zoom links which appear on their mobile devices.
- Do NOT share any numbers or codes that are sent to your phone anonymously.
- Do NOT click on any links received from unknown sources, including fake WhatsApp messages or Zoom invitations. Clicking on unfamiliar or unsolicited links can lead to data breaches, malware infections, and the compromise of your personal information
- Be cautious of unsolicited calls or messages requesting personal details.
- Never Accept Links from Strangers
- Verify Before You Click: If someone sends you a meeting link or a file unexpectedly, verify its authenticity before opening it, even if it appears to be from a known contact.
These are attempts by scammers to gain access to your accounts and personal information. Stay vigilant and protect your personal information.

If you receive any suspicious messages, calls, or notice unusual behaviour, don’t engage. Block the number immediately and report it to the Financial Crimes Unit at 1 (649) 232-3286 or 232-3255.
