The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF) is making major operational changes as part of its response to the threat of COVID-19.
Policing is a public service centered around direct interactions with members of the public but, given the threat of COVID-19, you are asked to cooperate with us as we seek to reduce Non- essential face to face contact with the community.
Effective immediately, the Police Records Offices will be closed until further notice. Only Emergency Police Records (Health Related) will be issued at this time. For further information please call 231-9950. We will continue to process Investigative Reports i.e., Fire Reports, Missing Document Reports and Vehicular Accident Reports. You will be contacted for collection.
The public is encouraged to avoid visiting Police Stations to file reports unless it is absolutely necessary. You are welcomed to call our main station numbers for help. The Grand Turk Police Station is 946-2299, The South Caicos Police Station- 946-3299, The Chalk Sound Police Station 941-8082, The Grace Bay Police Station- 941-5891 and The North Caicos Police Station on 946- 4448. Call 911 as usual for all emergencies. These measures are intended to protect not just the police who interact with members of the public but to control the numbers of members of the public at Police Buildings.
Commissioner of Police Trevor Botting said, “We are facing the challenges of Covid-19 and the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force is resolute and determined to keep our communities safe and secure. Whilst making some changes to how we operate, we remain committed to responding and dealing with serious crime and other incidents. It is business as usual and we will continue to enforce the rule of law. The threat of Covid-19 requires us all to think and act differently. The Force is planning hard for every eventuality and I would like to ask the members of Public for their patience during these uncertain times and please be assured that the Force will keep you updated with any changes to the policing of the TCI. I would like to encourage the public to follow the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health and do your part in efforts to contain Covid-19”.

If an officer has to respond to your home following an emergency, please be prepared to answer the following questions:
• Was anyone at the Residence diagnosed with Covid-19?
• Has anyone at the Residence recently returned from overseas travel?
• Has anyone inside of the Residence display symptoms of cold or flu?
Also, at a Crime Scene, please expect a responding Officer(s) to maintain the safe social distancing zone of 3 feet -6 feet during questioning. This is in the best interest for your personal safety and that of the responding Officers.
