Acting Commissioner Mr. Trevor Botting said, “We are increasing patrols and policing activity in all areas following a spate of robberies over the last week running into the weekend. Investigators are activity following key leads to bring offenders to justice. We need the assistance of the local community to give my officers information into these offences. We have been doing extra surveillance in all areas and the community should expect to see an increase in officers on patrol, including armed officers. We’re doing everything we can, and I think we can make progress with the public’s help. Anyone with information please call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-8477.”
The Acting Commissioner continued, “We would like to encourage all members of the public to always remain vigilant in the day and during the hours of darkness. Avoid walking alone in dark, in isolated areas especially in parking lots, avoid carrying large amounts of cash and try to always use an ATM/Debit card when possible and avoid using ATM machines at night located in isolated areas. Please report anything or anyone you believe is suspicious. With your help, we can bring those who are committing these offences to justice.”
