An illegal vessel transporting ONE HUNDRED (100) irregular migrants was intercepted on the evening of Friday, 30th May 2025.

At approximately 9:02 p.m., officers from the Marine Unit aboard the vessels Sea Pursuit and  Sea Guardian, with the assistance of United States Coast Guard (Air Division) aircraft, located  and intercepted a green, 35-foot boat powered by two outboard engines, roughly seven miles  southeast of Providenciales.

The illegal vessel was successfully intercepted, and following a head count, it was found to be carrying 100 individuals: EIGHTY-THREE (83) males and SEVENTEEN (17) females,  including one female minor

Shortly after, the migrant vessel began taking on water and was at risk of sinking.

In response, additional support units, including Tactical Officers and officers from partner agencies such as the Border Force and the TCI Regiment, were deployed to assist with the situation.

Thanks to the swift coordination and effort of all responding units, the vessel was successfully docked, and all individuals on board were safely disembarked. The irregular migrants were transported to the Detention Centre via Immigration buses.
