A 24-year-old Dominican Republic national has been charged with murdering Stephen Asino Baker.
LUIS GUTTIERREZ ROSARIO, of West Road, Grand Turk was charged yesterday (May 08th), following instructions received from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The charge against Rosario states that on January 15th, 2023, in Palm Grove Grand Turk, he murdered Stephen Asino Baker, Contrary to Section 3 of the Offenses Against the Person Ordinance Chapter 3.08.
At the time of his death, Baker, 33, was a Jamaican national employed as a chef.
Mr Rosario appeared before the Supreme Court today (May 09th) and was remanded into custody. He will return to court on July 07th for a sufficiency hearing.
Superintendent in charge of the Serious Crime Unit Dean Holden in a brief statement said: “I wish to thank the officers of the Serious Crime Unit for their dedication and commitment in bringing this case to a charge. I wish to further reassure and emphasise to the public and families that the RTCIPF is committed to bringing prosecutions against perpetrators and when possible, closure to persons who have lost loved ones to these senseless homicides”.
