The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF) has taken a 36-year-old male into
custody following the recovery of a firearm and ammunition during a domestic-related report.
Officers attached to the Grace Bay Police Post responded to a report of a disturbance between a
male and a female at a residence along Leeward Highway yesterday (March 27) evening.
Upon arrival, both parties were separated and spoken to regarding the incident. During the
interaction, officers were alerted to a bag that had been discarded from the residence.
Officers conducted a search and discovered a high-powered tactical firearm along with a quantity
of ammunition inside the bag.
The male was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The scene was processed, and the firearm was secured.
This recovery marks the fourth firearm seized for the year and the third within Providenciales,
highlighting the continued proactive efforts of the RT&CIPF in removing illegal weapons from
the community.
Investigations remain ongoing.
