Detectives of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force are investigating the circumstances that led to the murder of a male in Kew Town, Providenciales this afternoon (July 18th).
At around 2:41 p.m., the Police Control Room received several calls that gunshots were being heard in the vicinity of the Pink Bar and Musgrove Close.
Officers were dispatched to the location, and upon arrival found the lifeless body of a male lying on the ground with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The male has been identified as Derrick Missick a.k.a “Dope Baby”.
While at this scene, officers received information that a male and female had arrived at the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre (CHMC) seeking medical attention for gunshot wounds.


Both incidents are being investigated.
Commissioner of Police (ag) Rodney Adams described the events of today as heartbreaking.
Mr. Adams assured that the required resources have been committed in pursuit of the criminal elements bent on causing distress and fear to the law-abiding.
“We have to work together to prevent crime from happening. I am appealing to those with information on illegal activities, to say something. Help us in apprehending these perpetrators and bring them to justice.” The murder count for the year (July 18th) is ten.
The public is being advised to notify the closest police station, contact 911 or TCI CrimeStoppers at 1-800-8477 and give any information on this murder and other illegal activities anonymously.
