The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force confirms that illegal migrant MERRICK
ANTHONY JENNINGS, 44, has pleaded guilty to firearm related offences.

Jennings, a Jamaican national, today received the following sentences:
Count 1 – Possession of a Firearm: 12 years
Count 2 – Possession of Ammunition: 12 years
Count 3 – Possession of Cannabis: 3 years
Count 4 – Unlawful Entry: 2 years
All sentences are to run concurrently. Meaning he will serve twelve (12) years imprisonment,
following which Mr. Jennings will be deported.
The charges arose from a police-led operation conducted in the Blue Hills district on July 9th,
2024, during which officers discovered a firearm, ammunition and cannabis in Jenning’s
possession.
The seizure of this firearm has potentially saved a life and prevented what could have been a
serious violent offence. Every illegal weapon removed from our streets strengthens community
safety and reinforces the Force’s commitment to proactive policing.
The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF) would like to remind the public
that entering the TCI illegally is a criminal offence.
Individuals who facilitate or assist unlawful entry are equally culpable and will be dealt with in
accordance with the law.
