POLICE have named a motorist killed in a road traffic accident in Provo, yesterday (Sunday July 8). Quinton Phillips, 22, suffered fatal injuries when the vehicle he was driving collided with a wall after it overturned on the Leeward Highway. His passenger, Dervonte Joseph, 18, suffered serious, but non life-threatening injuries. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened just after 4am close to Carlisle Supplies. PC Abdonald Pierre from the RTCI Police Traffic Department, explained: “The 911 Call Centre was alerted just after 4am on Sunday to a serious motor vehicle accident on the eastern carriageway of the Leeward Highway, close to Carlisle Supplies.

“Both occupants of the vehicle were injured and rushed to the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre by ambulance. “Sadly the driver succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead just before 6am.” PC Pierre added: “An investigation has now been launched and we urge anyone who either saw the collision or who has any information, to contact the police.” Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 911 or Crime Stoppers on 1-800-8477. Tips can also be left in English, French or Spanish at www.crimestoppers.tc or by becoming a friend of Crime Stoppers TCI on Facebook.
