At approximately 10:20 a.m. today (29 April), the Police Control Room received a call requesting urgent medical assistance for a male reportedly drowning at a beach in Grace Bay.
Emergency response units, including officers from Grace Bay Mobile, were immediately dispatched to the location.
The victim has been identified as 68-year-old ROBERT MARK TJIATTAS, who was rushed to the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre, where he was pronounced deceased at 11:17 a.m. by a medical doctor.
Preliminary reports indicate that the victim was swimming when he was seen floating unresponsively in the water. An alarm was raised, and he was quickly brought to shore, where CPR was administered.

The RT&CIPF is continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death.
