THE ROYAL TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS POLICE FORCE

Service with Pride and Integrity

For Emergency, Call 9-1-1

The Safeguarding and Public Protection Unit (SPPU) of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF) intensified its public education efforts on Friday, October 3rd, to raise awareness about domestic violence.

During the outreach activity, officers engaged members of the public in informative discussions, answering questions and providing insights into the various signs and types of domestic violence, as well as sharing important contact numbers for assistance.

Alarmingly, some men expressed surprise upon learning that they can be victims of domestic violence.

The outreach was held at SMART Supermarket, Downtown, Providenciales. Look out for the SPPU team pop-up booth on October 17th at Sunny Foods, Blue Hills.

The RT&CIPF reminds the public that domestic violence does not discriminate; seek help now, before it’s too late.

The SPPU strongly emphasizes that if you suspect someone is being abused or there are allegations of abuse, IMMEDIATELY use any of the following options:

* Report to the nearest police station.

* Contact the Safeguarding and Public Protection Unit at 232-6696.

*The Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) at 338-4013, via email MASH@gov.tc *The Department of Social Development at 338-4008 or call 911.
