Dwight Gardiner is a Turks and Caicos Islander who currently holds the rank of acting Assistant Commissioner of Police. A law enforcement officer with over 20 years of experience, ACP Gardiner possesses a range of skill sets, including conflict resolution, operational planning, policy development, threat assessment, community engagement, and strategic planning.
Since February 2022, Mr. Gardiner has served as Superintendent in charge of Divisions and Community Policing on Providenciales, monitoring frontline operations, community engagement strategies, and multi-agency coordination.
Recognizing the importance of grassroots involvement, Mr. Gardiner was instrumental in forming and supporting Community Watch Groups across multiple neighborhoods, strengthening police-community collaboration and fostering a culture of shared responsibility for safety.
Having previously served as Divisional Commander of Division “B”, where he managed patrol units, coordinated emergency responses, and engaged directly with residents and business owners to address public safety concerns.
Mr. Gardiner has served within various units of the Force, including the National Crime Intelligence Bureau, where he led threat analysis efforts, developed intelligence models, and supported national risk assessments, contributing to stronger decision-making at the highest levels of the Force.
In 2013, he also acted as Human Resource Manager, focusing on workforce development and productivity improvements within the RT&CIPF.
Known for a people-first leadership style, ACP Gardiner is passionate about building trust between law enforcement and the community. He continues to champion innovative policing, youth outreach, and partnership-driven crime prevention across the islands.
