For Emergency, Call 9-1-1

At around 1550 hours on Saturday 23rd July 2022, at Providenciales International Airport, air traffic control reported that a single-engine light C210 aircraft, that had been landing at the airport, had left the runway following onto rough ground causing damage to the front wheel and nose of the aircraft. The Providenciales Airport Fire Service, local Ambulance and Police Officers attended the scene as per a normal response to an incident of this type. There were four persons on board the aircraft at the time of the incident, including the pilot, none of whom were injured.

Whilst the Airport was temporarily closed to allow the initial response, flight operations resumed shortly afterwards and the airport remains fully operational. Trevor Botting, Commissioner of Police said, “This incident led to a short disruption to flights at the airport to allow the initial response by the emergency service but flight operations were quickly resumed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of this incident. As is normal with this type of incident, the UK Air Crash Investigation Branch has been informed.”
