The Traffic Enforcement Unit of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force is
investigating the circumstances that led to a road fatality which occurred on Saturday, 28th
March 2026, along Leeward Highway in the vicinity of Caicos Lodge, Providenciales.
At approximately 11:48 a.m., the Police Control Room received multiple reports of a female
pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. The victim was reported to have sustained multiple
injuries.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers observed a vehicle stationary in the median facing west, with
extensive front-end damage and its airbags deployed. A second vehicle was also involved in the
collision.
Emergency Medical Technicians attended the scene and transported the injured female to the
Cheshire Hall Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased at 12:58 p.m.
The deceased has been identified as LUCIMENE MONDELUS-CINE, 43, of Leeward Highway.
The RT&CIPF extends condolences to the family and loved ones of Ms. Mondelus-Cine.
The scene was processed by the Traffic Enforcement Unit under the direction of acting Inspector
Damien Mitchell.
This incident marks the third road fatality for 2026.
