The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF) is proud to announce the promotion of Jonathan Lamont Roberts to the rank of Sergeant, following a formal pinning ceremony held at the Grand Turk Police Station on Monday, May 26, 2025.
The ceremony was officiated by Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey, who presented Sergeant Roberts with his chevrons in recognition of his longstanding commitment, professionalism, and integrity throughout his 24-year career in law enforcement.

Sergeant Roberts’s promotion was strongly endorsed by the Force Executive Team, his Divisional Officer, and members of the public. His character, dedication to duty, and humility have earned him widespread respect among both his peers and senior leadership.
Commissioner Bailey first took note of Roberts’s exceptional conduct during the Opening of Parliament on February 21, 2025, where he stood out for his professional demeanor, immaculate attire, and courteous service. Following this impression, a series of background checks and a formal Work, Worth, and Conduct Report were conducted, leading to a unanimous recommendation for promotion.
Throughout his career, Sergeant Roberts has served in various key capacities, including assignments at the Grand Turk Supreme and Magistrate Courts, the Immigration Department, and currently as the Sergeant-at-Arms in the House of Parliament.
Sergeant Roberts enlisted in the RT&CIPF in December 1997 and completed his formal training in January 1998 at the Regional Police Training Center in Barbados (Course #108). He earned the Bronze Medallion for Excellence in Lifesaving and Swimming during his Passing Out Parade.
