The Serious Crime Unit of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force is currently investigating two separate shooting incidents that occurred today, resulting in multiple individuals sustaining gunshot injuries.
Shooting in Kew Town – Four Injured
At approximately 6:14 PM, the Police Control Room received a report of a shooting in the Kew Town area. As a result, a prompt and coordinated response from police units was initiated.
Soon after, additional calls were received reporting multiple gunshots heard in the vicinity of Betty Shop, also in Kew Town. While at the scene, officers received confirmation that two male victims with gunshot wounds had arrived at a local medical facility for emergency treatment. A third victim was discovered nearby by responding officers and was transported via ambulance.
Further investigations led officers to the Pete Court area, where a fourth male, suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot, was located and also taken for medical care.
In total, four male victims are currently receiving treatment for injuries sustained in this incident.
South Caicos Firearm Incident – One Injured
In a separate incident earlier today, shortly after noon, the Police Control Room received a report of a firearm-related injury in South Caicos. A 71-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the left thigh and is currently receiving medical treatment.
In an immediate response, a team of officers from various specialized units—including Forensics, Tactical, and Serious Crime Investigations—were deployed to South Caicos to commence inquiries and bolster the operational strength.
Both incidents remain under active investigation by the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force.
