On Saturday, May 10, 2025, officers from the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force apprehended a suspect wanted in connection with serious crimes in Jamaica.
ALEX ANTHONY MCDONALD, 31, a Jamaican national who entered the Turks and Caicos Islands illegally, was seen at Sapodilla Beach, Chalk Sound, Providenciales.

Officers from the Tactical Unit swiftly proceeded to the location and apprehended McDonald. Checks confirmed that he entered the TCI illegally.
He was taken into police custody and later formally charged by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) with the offence of Unlawful Entry.
Further information received by detectives indicates that the Jamaica Constabulary Force is seeking McDonald in connection with an ongoing murder investigation.
Investigations remain active as the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF) continues to work closely with regional law enforcement partners and Interpol Units on this matter.
The RT&CIPF is also making inquiries to determine whether McDonald is linked to any crimes in the TCI.
