Service with Pride and Integrity

For Emergency, Call 9-1-1

The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force wishes to extend Happy Mother’s Day greetings to all mothers.

The very nature of a mother’s job, more often than not, requires nurturing, care, love and sacrifice.

With this in mind, RTCIPF yesterday (May 13th) held a pre-Mother’s Day Partnership Initiative, which allowed single mothers from Constituencies within the TCI to engage in some well-deserved alone time and space to relax and be catered to and pampered.

This all-inclusive initiative saw us (the RTCIPF) partnering with the Soroptimist International (Providenciales) by embracing babysitting duties to twenty –five children between the ages of two months to seventeen years, for eight hours.

The mothers (Five Cays, Kew Town, Blue Hills, The Bight,) were chauffeured from their homes to the Felix Morely Community Center where they engaged in a prayer session officiated by the RTCIPF Chaplin Father Lynden Douglas.

They were then shuttled off to Le Bleu Villa, had breakfast and given massages courtesy the Rose Mobile Spa. The mothers also received manicure and pedicure services from Dominique’s Hair Salon.

One lucky mother won a cellphone compliments Digicel, whilst everyone received goodie bags from Members of Parliament and the RTCIPF.

Over in Five Cays, RTCIPF officers joined Soroptimist International (Providenciales) and interacted with the children by playing basketball, games and offering them words of encouragement.

Deputy Permanent Secretary, National Security Secretariat Dr. Virginia Clerveaux also loaned her babysitting skillset to the initiative.

This collaboration between the police and the community is geared towards ensuring all members become active allies in efforts to identify community problems and improve the safety within communities.
