Officers of the Royal Turks & Caicos Islands Police Force have solved a burglary at the Royal Bank of Canada. Brook Julien of Providenciales earlier this week, Tuesday, 11 June 2013 pled guilty to the charge of Burglary with Intent relating to an incident at the Royal Bank of Canada on Monday, 3 June 2013.

The Royal Turks & Caicos Islands Police Commissioner Colin Farquhar today commended police officers for the quick and professional manner in which the case at the Royal Bank of Canada was solved. “I am incredibly proud of the police officers involved in this case,” Commissioner Farquhar said.

Commissioner Farquhar’s comments were made after Brook Julien pled guilty and was sentenced to serve 18 months in Her Majesty’s Prison in Grand Turk.

Commissioner Farquhar also took the opportunity to send a warning to anyone engaging in the buying and selling of stolen items. The Police are working hard to put an end to this illicit trade. The RTCIPF currently have several persons charged and awaiting trial for possession of handling stolen goods. Handling stolen goods is a serious offence and those found guilty could face serving a maximum of fourteen years imprisonment.
