A 43-year-old man of Grand Turk has been arrested after he was seen running through the yard of an off-duty police officer.
Around 2:28 am today (Thursday 1st December 2016), the officer reportedly observed the man running through his yard in Over Back with a black bag in his possession. The officer identified himself and told the suspect to stop. A foot pursuit ensued and the suspect was detained. During a search of the bag, a quantity of food items, a ninja blender and a black and silver iPhone was found. He could not give an explanation as to who the items belong too. He was arrested on suspicion of Burglary.
The suspect later admitted to the police that he had just burglarized a home in the same area.
He is presently in Police Custody at the Grand Turk Police Station.
