The Commissioner of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force Mr. James Smith would like to thank members of the public for their assistance in providing information which lead to an arrest of a Robbery suspect.

“During the past few weeks, we received strong support from the public regarding a number of incidents we are investigating. As a result of information, my officers have arrested and charged a number of men with serious offences that have been committed

Two wanted males (21 and 28-year-olds) were arrested within the last two weeks, one of those males were arrested for Aggravated Burglary in connection with a report made on Friday 13th January 2017. The other was charged with 4 counts of Robbery all involving firearms and were committed on separate occasions. They are both remanded to prison.

Also, during the last few weeks Police arrested and charged a 21-year-old male with Robbery and Possession of Imitation Firearm in connection to a report made on Thursday 3rd August 2017.

A number of persons are in Police custody pending investigations into other serious offences.

As officers continue to work hard to identify other persons responsible for crime, members of the public are asked to remain vigilant and do not hesitate to report suspicious activity or persons. As part of our ongoing operational activity in response to a number of serious crimes, you may see additional policing activity carried throughout Providenciales.”
